Peet Peterman at Miso’s Hillside Tap

I’d been looking forward to some live music in Second Life for a while now, and a random search found me at Miso’s minutes prior to Peet Peterman taking the stage. What an auspicious coincidence, a new venue and a gig from one lucky search!

Miso’s is a modern, friendly bar on two levels. I settled down on a nearby sofa and waited while Peet, resplendent in cowboy hat and roll-up hanging from his lips, tuned up.

Peet, who hails from the Netherlands (I think), played an enjoyable Dylanesque set, encoring with a Beatles cover, the title of which escapes my always unreliable memory.

One of the highlights of the gig was someone TPing into the club and ending up on Peet’s lap. No one appeared unduly concerned about this stage invasion and the person in question was somewhat indignant when I suggested he shift from the musician’s body.

The audience were appreciative and the sound quality surprisingly good. It wasn’t really a dance event and I enjoyed being able to just sit back and soak up the atmosphere.

I’ll most definitely return to Miso’s and will watch the SL career of Mr Peterman with interest.
