Piano 59 – SL Bloggers Party

The third (my first) SL Bloggers Party was hosted by the excellent Veyron Supercharge, who turned her house over to the blogging hordes for an afternoon (for the Europeans) and evening (for the Americans) of well-behaved mayhem (at least it was well-behaved at the time I had to leave – early).

The gig was billed as SciFi themed, so I turned up in a NASA space outfit I had picked up ages ago for free, I always knew it would come in useful one day! I had also purchased a blue version of my favourite SL hair style (Bonita by ETD), just for that extra extra-terrestrial twist.

The insatiable Zoe Connolly was kind enough to supply a piano.

I played ‘Planet Claire’ by the B52s, it felt like an appropriate choice for party:

“She came from Planet Claire
I knew she came from there
She drove a Plymouth Satellite
Faster than the speed of light

Planet Claire has pink air
All the trees are red
No one ever dies there
No one has a head

Some say she’s from Mars
Or one of the seven stars
That shine after 3:30 in the morning
WELL SHE ISN’T”

It was great catching-up with the faces behind some of best SL blogs, although Wrath Paine almost found himself propelled into orbit after suggesting I looked less than glamorous in the spacesuit, well really!

So, many, many thanks to Veyron for hosting the party and Zoe for starting up and organising the SL Bloggers group. Looking forward to the next one!

  1. Hi Caterin, I’m so glad you could make it to the party. I’ll have my piano locked under a plastic display box for the upcoming SL Blogger museum. You do NASA proud in your spacesuit.

  2. Hi Zoe, I really enjoyed this gig, one of the tops! Hugely looking forward to the next one. Cx

  3. Yeah, that space suit rocks! (And so does Planet Claire!)

  4. Heh, thanks Alexander, though it looks like I missed the action at the end! Never mind, it was a great laugh…

  5. I just love the first photograph. Such a great contrast between the space outfit and the piano. And don’t mind Wrath, it’s not that his costume was shaded that well!

  6. Caterin, Caterin, Caterin… where to start? πŸ˜‰

So many changes lately, I cannot keep up! The Caterin I know always wore nice summery dresses and had long, flowing, blonde hair. Suddenly, I see a post with short red hair, playing a keyboard, of all things?? Not complaining, though, as I do love me some old school Depeche Mode. πŸ˜‰

And then the blogger party – not that I minded the blue hair, which I would’ve appreciated had I actually been able to see it from across the room and my first live meeting with you had not been hiding through a space helmet! hehe

And the NASA suit? Great for the sci-fi theme, I’ll give you mad props there, certainly – but was it as form flattering as your normal dresses? I think not! Okay, but you do play a mean piano, so I suppose that makes up for it. πŸ™‚

Oh, and I think it was evening for the Europeans and afternoon for the rest of us, just sayin’. hehe

Great to finally meet you in person, though! You are now obligated to attend all future blogger parties. It’s a fact.

  7. yes, yes, yes, you’re right of course! and am looking forward immensely to the next party…and will stay up later next time πŸ˜‰

  8. Well Caterin, did obviously missed that part of the blogmeet, but looking forward already to the next one, so we will meet for sure.

  9. I WANT that space suit! OMG. It rocks so hard!

  10. Myg, I think you can get a free one at Nicky Ree’s store.

  11. i had the same question as myg … thanks πŸ™‚ oh, and btw: i can’t seem to get my blogroll up and going. would you know what it is i do wrong?

  12. That depends on which blogging platform you are using Theresa.
